On September 17th, the U.S. Government announced a 10% tariff on certain products that are manufactured in China and are then imported and sold in the United States. To prepare for the upcoming tariff, industry suppliers of data hardware are forced to raise their hardware prices. You can expect to see a 7% to 10% price increase from all industry suppliers including Extreme Networks, Cisco, Juniper, HPE, Aruba, Dell, etc. These increases will go into effect on November 1st.
The U.S. government has also announced it will raise the tariff further to 25% on January 1, 2019, at which time there could be additional price increases. Any additional changes in pricing will be communicated to you by Matrix.
For more information on this please read the following LETTER from the CEO of Extreme Networks, Ed Meyercord.
If you have any short term technology purchases in mind, please reach out to Matrix to get the orders in by October 31st and avoid the November 1st increase.
